What to expect The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Festival usually begins in the Sydney Opera House. Then the weeks following provide theatre, films, conferences, cabarets, festish partys and clubs put on a few nights and events for the festival.

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Parade This occurs on the last day of the festival and is the best event. Thousands of people follow the parade as it winds through the gay and lesbian districts of Sydney starting at Hyde Park.


Sydney Gay and Lesbian Festival Other highlights include Fair Day at Victoria Park which draws numbers of 70,000. Also there is a pool party at Victoria Park which is a much smaller but more intimate gathering.

Sydney Gay & Lesbian Nightlife Slide Bar on Oxford St. is a hip spot to be seen. The Stonewall Hotel for those of you born out of the closet. The Arq Club is very liberal institute of hedonism.
