The festival usually occcurs at this time of year.History This 3 week performing arts, music & theatre festival was originally held in 1977. It has since grown into one of Australia's largest festivals with the best night being the first night as scheduled since 2008 pulling numbers of 200,000 for a free awesome music & dance show. Getting there Australia maybe a little far away but going to Sydney is easy, it's well serviced by Airports & also by train. Where to stayThere's excellent quality Hostels & Hotels available in Sydney. Sydney Arts FestivalWhat to expect More then 80 events with more then 500 artists from Australia & worldwide. Performances include dance, theatre, music, visual arts, cross media, work shops and forums. Sydney Festival events are both ticketed & free, there's a number of quality, free outdoor events like the Domain Concerts which attract up to 100,000 per show.Venues Performances will be at Sydney Theatre, CarriageWorks, City Recital Hall & the spectacular Sydney Opera House.
