Stuttgart Volksfest Festival

When & Where The Stuttgart Volksfest Festival also known as Canstatter Wasen occurs the last 2 weeks in September in Stuttgart, Germany.

What happens at Cannstatter-Volkfest Go to the Cannstatter Wasen area where you will find at least seven large beer tents awaiting your thirsty tongue. The largest tents are the Schwaben Brau, Stuttgarter Hofbrau and the Dinelacker. Each of these tents have a capacity of 5000 beer guzzlers.

Who should go Everyone. If you are a beer festival novice then this is a great first step to take to a lifelong passion. If you are a three time Munich Oktoberfest veteran then this is the breath of fresh beer you have been waiting for.

History The Bad Cannstatter Volksfest (Cannstatter Festival in English) first took place in 1818 to celebrate the opening of University of Hohenheim. It began as an agriculture festival of 30,000 people. Then as demand escalated it was clear people wanted primarily a beer festival. Hence today over 5 million people attend this beerfest.
