PyrenMuseu in Salardú, Val d´Aran, Catalonia. A series of free activities are organized around the importance of the Pyrenees in terms of culture, history, landscape and environment, not only for Catalonia but for the neighboring regions of Aragó, Navarra, Euskadi or the South of France.
The activities include daily guided walks to discover the nature and heritage of Val d’Aran, departing from Salardú’s tourist office at 9am; a series of talks by leading experts in their field on stereoscopic photography, climate change or poetry and literature in the Pyrenees; the exhibition “The Pyrenees in-depth, stereoscopic photography and 3D” and the 2nd Edition of Mountaineering Films, which include the award winning titles ‘All.I.Can’, by Dave Mossop & Eric Grossland or ‘Encordades’, by
Pyrenades is an initiative of PyrenMuseu, a museum located in Refugi Rosta, the first hotel which opened in Val d’Aran. The aim of the museum is to recover and interpret the legacy of the Pyrenees and the adventures of the first explorers in the 19th century. Their stories are a mix of romanticism and scientific knowledge, ranging from geography to botanic combined with literature.
The Festival has the support of Naut Aran council, the Conselh Generau d’Aran and l'Insitut per al Desenvolupament i la Promoció de l'Alt Pirineu i Aran (IDAPA).
