Louisianna Pirate-Festival

Contraband Days Festival History It began as a pirates festival in the 1950's however its roots are from Jean Lafitte and his bucanneers who fled to Lake Charles to escape capture. His hideaway and now grave was called Contraband Bayou. Legend says that he is buried there with his last hoist of silver and gold. Maybe it's all just a sea tale.
