Novruz Bayram

Novruz Bayram is celebrated in Azerbaijan and few more countries like Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Cetra.

Novruz is a festival of spring that takes place usually on 19-22 of March.

People get together at the streets and jump over the fire. The tradition tells that this ritual cleanes up body from the sin. At the same time kids put hats on front doors, knocking and hiding after. The doors is open and then lady or man put some sweets to the hat. It's a little bit like Halloween.

At the same time this holiday has its own meal and sweets like shakarbura, pahlava, shakarchorek and so on but most important is plov (rice) while lots of guests are invited to home of friends sharing greetings.
