"All you need is Love"
Manny and I took a bus up to San Francisco from our native Los Angeles to partake in the Love Parade/ Love Fest. We went to enjoy music, good company and the absolute abundance of love from everyone. We started the day with mimosa's at our good friend Tanya's house surrounded by more good friends. We got ready for the Festival by painting our faces and bodies and getting our souls ready to dance into oblivion. We had no idea what an experience we were going to live through. Even on the train from Tanya's house to the Civic Center were fellow hippies dancing and laughing with us to the music in our minds. Once we left the trains and arrived at the mass of people, we were bombarded with volunteers for the festival asking for donations. We handed them what we could and received an itunes card, good for $20. We frolicked around the venue stopping at each float, listening to the sounds and feeling the vibrations of music and love and peace surrounding us by 360 degrees. There were men, women, children, teenagers, gays, straights and just about any sort of category one can be placed into. There was nudity. It was beautiful because nobody was naked to be seen sexually, they were naked to free themselves and free their minds from the real world, if only for a day. It was truly life changing. Being around so much honesty, purity and free minds invoked a much greater self-worth. It made me feel as though everyone should be freed and therefore was inspiring to go to outside communities, or even inside ones and literally spread the love.
