Achill Island, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Féile Bia na Mara is a culinary celebration of Achill's rich heritage with the sea and it showcases the bountiful harvest of the Atlantic Ocean.

Events in 2009 and 2010 included cookery demonstrations, seaweed safaris, fish markets, seafood BBQs and a family sandcastle competition. Local (and guest) talent included Cailín agus Buachaill Óg and the Achill's Got Talent contest. We intend to make the 2011 Féile Bia na Mara even bigger and more enjoyable, so check back here as full details of events will be posted as soon as they are finalised.

Ross Lewis, Guest Chef 2011

Ross Lewis of Michelin Star restaurant Chapter One will be guest chef at the 2011 Féile Bia na Mara.

Ross is from Cork and a graduate of University College Cork. He has travelled and worked in the restaurant industry in New York, London and Switzerland. His passion and drive to open his own restaurant brought him back to Ireland where he has become immersed in Ireland's emerging food culture.

Chapter One has also been internationally feted by top U.S food magazine's former food editor as his favourite Dublin restaurant and by Australian Gourmet Traveller as having "a reputation for serving the very best of Irish inspired cuisine".

Thanks Kate for your article about this Seafood Festival. I love to have such festivals where we have a lot of seafood to try that we never tried before. Also top term paper services is good for the students to get their essays from here.

I was at the Achill Seafood Festival last year, and it was great craic. My faves were the cookery demos and Achill's Got Talent. The weather was fab too, which helped!
