It is celebrated every year during the month of September, from September the second, through the 18th. It links with the foundation of the city of Zacatecas on September 8th and the Mexican Independence Day too.

On September 15th people party all night long with the sound of the typical "tamborazo" (drums, tuba and whistles)you can attend the "palenque" or "teatro del pueblo" to see and listen famous Latin American artists who sing and perform for free in most places.The wildest nights are from the 8th through to the sixteenth.
