History of Festival On Halloween day 1978 Joe Lisky notice that no-one was on the streets of Key West. The town was deserted. He felt a carnaval would boost the local economy and the rest is a history of fetish, sexuality and good times. Accomodation Key West isn't able to cope with rising numbers so if you know you're going you should book a local Hostel or Hotel now.
Getting there Key West has a well serviced international airport. I recommend flying into Key West because train and bus services around the 10 days of the Festival are hectic.
What to Expect There's usually a good Dungeons & Dragons fetish party, the annual Headress Ball, Danceapalooza, celebrity look-a-like competition, wet t-shirt competition and toga parties. There's lots of pool parties and rooftop parties ask around everyone's welcoming and open. Don't miss The Masquerade March through the streets on the second Friday and the Captain Morgan's street parade on the second Saturday of the parade. Over 80,000 people participate in this walking fetish party and anything goes. The weather is hot so prepare to strip off.
Festival characteristics ? Nudity, body painting and sexual experimenting. Something for the family ? The pet parade is good wholesome, innocent fun, dress your pet up and take it walkies.
