Leprechaun Hunt Ireland
28th March 2010 in Carlingford in Co Louth (Ireland) will host The National Leprechaun Hunt of Ireland.
Hunters will assemble at "The Green" at 1.30 pm and having bought a Leprechaun Hunting Licence for €5 will proceed to the mountain gate.
All hunting areas are marked by 4 flagpoles.It is expected that up to 50 Leprechauns could be found each carrying a reward, the value of which is written under his heel.
The hunt will finish at 4.30pm. and "finders" will claim their prize at the Square Carlingford Co Louth Ireland at 5pm.
Due to an EU Habitats Directive for the protection of flora, fauna, wild animals, and Little People ( Leprechauns) hunters will NOT be allowed to hunt in the area of the Wishing well and Slate Rock as this area is now protected.
All proceeds from the Leprechaun hunt on the day will go to Our Ladys Children's Hospital Crumlin and Newry Hospic.
