Last weekend of July/1st weekend of August

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Caribana springs from roots of the top-rated Trinidad Carnival - initially organized by the Trinidad diaspora in Canada, but now have extended to represent all CAribbean countries and is a festival that is proudly "owned" by the black community of Toronto, regardless of ethnicity.

Before the festival, there are steelpan competitions, calypso competitions in the city, but the grand finale is the parade itself. Numerous masqueraders parade all day in the heat of the summer, bedecked in beads and feathers (and little else) to soca music. The festival brings in over 1 million visitors to the City of Toronto.
