BOOMSLANG

Oct 9-11 2009 in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky.

A 3-day, multi-venue celebration of sound and art, highlighting underground, experimental and visionary artists, from Kentucky, the nation and across the globe. We will be highlighting Lexington's unique venues and emphasizing the intimacy of club experiences, providing a unique alternative to field-party festivals and arena shows.

Boomslang Music Acts

Faust (legendary forefathers of the sublime genre krautrock, all the way from Germany in the states for the first time in over a decade); Os Mutantes (Brazilian maestros of tropicalia from the 1960s); The Black Angels; Atlas Sound; Bardo Pond; Shipping News; Papa M (solo act of David Pajo, founding member of Slint and guitarist for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs); Rachel Grimes of acclaimed avant-chamber group Rachel's; a multi-media presentation by Mark Hosler of Negativland; Psychedelic Horseshit; and many more!

The festival will also feature educational workshops, sound experiments, film screenings, a circus-themed fashion show (and general carnival atmosphere) and after-parties galore.
