Bay Bridge Fest Saint Louis

Bay Bridge Fest Saint Louis

The event started in 2007 in Old Town Bay St. Louis, Mississippi has been expanded to a three day weekend festival.

In 2011 the event kicks off on Friday, May 20th with a Patrons Party and Silent Auction at the new Bay St. Louis Community Hall. The theme for the event is Blue Jeans, BBQ and the Blues. It will run from 6-8pm.

All patrons will receive complimentary tickets to the Juke Joint Jam at participating businesses in the Depot District to listen to the sounds of area bands. Tickets to the Juke Joint Jam, to benefit Bay-Waveland Habitat for Humanity, can be purchased at the door of participating businesses for $15.

On Saturday, May 21st, the Festival continues with a 5K Run and Artwalk across the Leo W. Seal Jr. Bay Bridge at 8am. The end of the race party will be at Second and Main in Old Town.
Exhibits and food vendors open at 10am until 6pm with entertainment on the Hollywood Casino Main Stage until 10pm.

This year, the festival extends until Sunday, May 22nd with vendors and music from 12noon until 6pm. Venues throughout the festival include the Arts Village, Business Showcase, Silver Slipper Bay Café Food Court, Salute to the Military, Hancock Medical Center Health Fair and KidsZone. Old Town Bay St. Louis gives us the venue to showcase the new beach road and amenities in the Downtown District.

Children's FEES for fun at the Fest
by: Jean

Shame on the Chamber of Commerce and the City to charge $10 PER CHILD to be able to jump in the inflatables. My 2-1/2 year old would have loved it, and only would have spent about 10 minutes - if that long - but for $10??? Outrageous! For heaven's sake...adults had free bands to enjoy and only had to pay $2 - $3 for a beer. Give the kids something nice and DON'T charge them for it. It's bad enough our kids in Hancock County have NO where to go and be safe and be able to have a good time. The City's enormous ADVERTISING as a result of the Fest could more than pay a 2 day insurance policy over and over again. Just good old town GREED coming out.
