When & Where The Wasserschlacht Festival takes place in July (usually the last Sunday) in Berlin, Germany.

What to expect Mayhem! It starts out as a flirty water fight but soon it transpires into a racy food fight with tomatos, eggs, flour and anything that smells bad.

Rule What you throw must be either rotten or cooked.

Exception Watch your face as many people take exception to the rule !

History of Berlin Water fight

History This festival started off in 1998 with attempts to join two proud Berlin districts: Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. Though they are now formerly united a river divides them. This German water fight is a peacful protest between the Bohemian and conformists.
