When & Where St Patricks Day is 17th March every year. You don't have to be on the Emerald Isle to celebrate this awesome Irish festival. popular destinations for Patricks day include Boston, Chicago and New York. In fact all you need do is walk down to your local Irish pub and stumble out a few hours later.
What can you expect Guinness, parades, more Guinness, traditional Irish music, more Guinness, traditional Irish dancing, more Guinness, Leprechauns, more Guinness, waking up and trying to piece the night before together, more Guinness ?
Ok let's not fall into stereotypes about Irish drinking there is a history here somewhere: Paddy's celebrates St Patrick who was actually born in Wales. He drove all the snakes out of Ireland (not in a car).
Patricks day is also a great opportunity to dress up all in green and use a lot of Irish jokes, such as;
Q. Why does a leprechaun wear 2 condoms ?
A. To be sure, to be sure
or
Q. What is out on the lawn all summer and is Irish?
A. Paddy O'Furniture
last one I promise..
Q. What do you call a fake stone in Ireland?
A. A Sham-rock
Popular theories speculate Leprechauns (who dwell at the end of a rainbow) do not exist, however as most religious people will profess; just because you don't see something doesn't mean it does not exist- keep chasing that rainbow.
