San Lucar Horseraces
When & Where The Sanlucar Horseraces (Sanlúcar de Barrameda in Cadiz, Spain) usually occur in August. The races usually take place over 6 days.
The next dates are 10, 11 & 12 of August and the 2nd round will take place 25, 26 & 27 August 2011.
What to Expect The races take place, just before sunset, along the beach at the mouth of the river Guadalquivir with thousands of eager fans cheering riders on. It is contested at distances of 1500 m and 1800 m. Riders are clad in traditional colours and caps.
