New-Years-Eve-Time-Square When & Where The New-Years-Eve-Times-Square happens on the Bow Tie of Times Square (42nd to 47th Sts. Between Broadway & 7th Ave), New York City.
What happens ? New-Years-Eve-Time-Square is about Confetti, street drinking (although you can be arrested for doing so!), American flags, kissing, singing dancing, a new years countdown in video and pictures. In the last minute of the year a giant illuminated Waterford crystal ball is lowered. The Broadway countdown stage is the center of the celebrations as 1 million happy people forget the year past and look forward to the next one. The Ball eventually disappears as it's lights are turned off and the street crowd celebrates ecstatically.
