History of Melbourne International Comedy Fest

This Melbourne festival was originally launched in 1987 by Barry Humphries and Peter Cook. Today it draws 400,000 visitors and it grown to be Australia's largest cultural event. Average ticket prices are just $22, the Comedy Festival is not only a hugely popular event but an extremely accessible one as the Melbourne Town Hall precinct is converted into a giant comedy hub.
