When and Where The King-Biscuit-Blues-Festival usually takes place in early October. In 2011 this festival takes place from October 6-8th. This 2 day American blues music festival takes place in downtown Helena Arkansas.
What to expect This is Americas premier blues festival event set along the banks of the Missisipi river. There's lots of great stalls and markeys around this festival but for sure it's about the music and emerging American Blues acts get great airplay. Expect a lot of tributes in 2009 to the late great Sam Carr, son of the legedary Robert Nighthawk.

Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival History
The first blues festival (one day event) was held in 1986 and consisted of local residents on a flatbed truck as a stage. The festival has grown to a three-day event, with three stages and several activities like the Blues in Schools program, the Kenneth Freemyer 5K Run, and the Tour da’ Delta bicycle tour. This blues music festival has endured a few headaches regarding the name rights and now would like to be referred to as the "Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival" but some names just don't stick!
