Glenbeigh Festival Horseraces

Glenbeigh Racing Festival

When & Where The Glenbeigh Festival Horseraces usually occurs for 3 days in late August or in early September (as was the case in 2009). In 2011 the dates are September 2, 3 & 4th. For horseraces, the location is Rossbeigh Strand; a beach in Co. Kerry in Ireland. The exact timing of the horse races changes annually and depends on the timing of the tides.

What to Expect Lots of horse and pony racing. The festival kicks off when the Queen of the festival is named at the Red Fox Inn Pub, usually on the Friday night. Races go throughout the Saturday. Also some less racey events such as froccer (men in dresses playing soccer).
