When & Where The Festes Merce Barcelona is a Spanish Fiesta which usually takes place for four days in late September in Barcelona Spain.

What to Expect A human tower competition ! Late nights, parades, brass bands even Spanish Flamenco bands. There's lots of free concerts (more then 500) as well as swimming contests, Sardana Spanish dancing workshops and shows, a dare-devil Spanish fire run and also a human pyramid contest.

History

The history of this Spanish Festival are rooted in the changeover of the Autumn Solstice. The reason for the Virgin of Mercy to command this Spanish Fiesta is as a "thank you" for the miracles she has performed for Barcelona: namely defeating a swarm of locusts over 300 years ago as well as acting as Commander in Chief of the Catalan's city Defence force.
