Czech Bagpipe Festival
When & Where The Czech Bagpipe Festival is a European festival which usually takes place in the town of Strakonice, Pisecko in South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It takes place for four days in late August on every second year: evens e.g. 2010, 2012, 2014 etc. The next Bagpipe Festival in Strakonice will take place on August 2012.
What to Expect Known locally as Mezinarodni Dudacky Festivalu the town Strakonice is renowned for it's bagpipes "dudy" which are paraded on from the town to the local 16th century castle. There are hundreds of types of bagpipes on display from all over the world and there's traditional Czech dancers cladded in traditional Czech costumes.
