Chinas Ice Snow Festival - When & Where This Chinese festival takes place from January 5th- February 5th 2010 in Zhaolin & Sun Island Park in Haerbin (Harbin) in the Heilongjiang Province of China.

What to Expect The Chinas Ice Snow Festival in Heilongjiang is the celebration of the absolute freezing temperatures that occur here (-38c). Thousands of ice sculptures of buildings, world wonders, animals and Chinese Legends are carved in ice. Even the Great Wall of China has been been recreated. If you're really brave ten join the locals who take the plunge into the freezing waters.

History of Chinas Ice Sculpture Festival

This festival was first staged in 1999 and has expanded every year since with tourists from the Trans Siberian Railway stopping off as well as ice artists and sculpters from all over the world.
