When & Where This Belgian festival; the Binche Carnaval usually takes place in the town of Binche in Belgium on Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras.

What to Expect Locals dress up in fancy costumes wearing bizarre masks with green eyes: Gilles. They weave their way through the crowds armed with baskets full of oranges. Yes, they pelt you with oranges. But unlike the Ivrea Orange Throwing Carnival you are forbidden from retaliating.
